Our 41 acre Atherton Tablelands Retreat is centrally located just minutes from the beautiful Lake Tinaroo Dam, close to the famous Yungaburra Markets in the historic village filled with Restaurants, and just over an hours drive from the Cairns Airport, yet nestled amongst the many wonders of the Atherton Tablelands on the Cairns Highlands, Tropical Far North Queensland, Australia. Wake to the sound of bird songs and the smell of fresh country air, see the kangaroos boxing and the cattle grazing, walk out on your private deck and view the hot air balloons on the horizon. Enjoy some of our Atherton Tableland Activities such as fishing, and drop a line in the property dam - strike a Black Bream. Relax by the warmth of the open fire place in the 'Dam Hut'! Soak in the large double Spa or spoil yourself by indulging in a traditional Hawaiian Temple Style Massage in the privacy of your own cottage. "Barking Owl Retreat" was aptly named due to the abundance of Barking Owls in our area. We also have a large variety of beautiful Australian Native Birds and Wildlife on our property.
